Welcome back to UnEarth!!
Today in Step 11, we move into one of the most exciting parts of the Book Release Event. Let's plan and host An Award Ceremony!
First, let's look at why this is such a vital part of the Suspended-Release Novel Formula. Honestly, I can't think of a better way to appeal to new readers in the middle of a book release. The Award Ceremony is a great implementation because it allows you to build intrigue about your main characters using the most riveting excerpts from your book as a part of the ceremony.
Next, it builds excitement around the biggest subject matters of your unfolding plot.
For example, one of the most popular awards of my Suspended-Release Novels have been the "Weight Lifter's Award". This award is usually awarded to the character that does the most to overcome a hardship within the story. Other exciting award presentations go to the Best Female and Best Male character or role in a suspended-release novel or in ___________________ (the name of your book).
Once you Nominate the characters you can engage the readers by holding a vote, or you can solely make your award presentations with the winners as you see them and add links to the places within your book where you feel that those titles were won. This allows the audience to read bits and pieces and get familiar with the deeper characteristics of your main characters or cast as a whole.
Coming Up on the blog, I will host the first three awards of A Better Pair of Shoes "The Thinner Soul", a novel on October 31st. This is a great moment for you to get to see how this event feels, and how to structure your blog post. Once you feel clear on how to host your Award Ceremony... Jump In!!
